This note card set features reproductions of four floral still lifes from French artist Odilon Redon, including Flowers in a Vase (c. 1910), a detail from Pansies (c. 1905), Large Vase with Flowers (c. 1912), and Wildflowers (c. 1905). A contemporary of the impressionists, Redon had an eye for nature, but his blooms could be inventive, sometimes for the sake of pattern and shape. He set his flowers in abstract environments and bouquets of loosely defined leaves and velvety petals that convey mood through tone.
