Molly Hasimoto's clear-eyed scenes of birds in their natural habitats reflect an easy closeness to nature. In wintry block prints, she nimbly depicts everything from a cardinal perched amid the mist to a Clark's nutcracker surveying the crisp vista. In addition to her own artistry, Hashimoto is dedicated to connecting people to nature through hands-on art experiences. Camera and sketchbook in hand, she can be found leading aspiring artists out of doors for painting or in a studio for block-printing or watercolor workshops. She teaches at the North Cascades Institute, the Yellowstone Association Institute, and the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology.
